Have you had your Holy communion?

On Sunday we went to my cousin’s house. But Before we went to my cousin’s house, my family and I went to church to celebrate my cousin’s first Holy communion. After I woke up, I went to put my blazing white T-shirt on and pants on. After I got changed we went to church  and I saw my cousin Faith. She was going to receive her first Holy Communion. So we went to find seat to sit down..Then the Mass started, we sang  like a lion in the church. When we started singing I saw my cousin wearing a white dress and  she looked like an angel. After Mass we went home.

When we got home I went with my sister and my mum to go and  get my cousin’s cake at Magere. On the way to Mangere, I fell asleep in the car. I woke up when we arrived to Mangere. I had to wait in the car until they came back. When they got back I opened the box. When I opened up  the box all I could see was white bright things shining at me. It has writing on the cake that said “Happy first Holy Communion Faith”.

When we got back we all had to get ready except for my mum and my sister because they looked after my mum's new born baby. I had to get change out of my nice clothes and into my home clothes. After I got changed out of my clothes we got into the car. When we got to my cousin’s house and there were a lot of people there including my cousin’s. I had to get things out of the car and take them inside the house.

After I bring the food inside I went outside to go play basketball. When we played I chose Matthew to be in my team. We were the first to score. So the score was one-zero.The person that scores a goal gets to continue the next play off. When the second round started again, we checked the ball first with the opposite team. My cousin blocked me from getting a goal, so we tied on the score.When he blocked me they got the ball then they got a goal. When they got a goal i got a goal, it was one all. Then they checked the ball and my cousin blocked him from getting goal but he still scored.

                                                                                                                                                                    After the basketball game we and all went inside to have some food. I had Sushi and chicken and it was yummy. After I finished eating I went on my cousin’s IPad and their Playstation. When I was playing on the Playstation we played “Black Ops Call of duty 2”, online. We invited people that were good at “Buried” and then we started playing. I got get a gun from the mystery box and  a Ray gun mark 2. Then I tried to free the big guy because he was one of the main characters in the game but I died in the 10th round. After I played on the Playstation we went home.

At my cousin’s house I had the best day ever. I hope we come back next time and have more yummy food.

Try to keep up with your team!

Soccer is a sport that keeps you fit. It’s a game played between two teams of five players and the players have a netted soccer goal at each end of the court.

In Soccer, the players have to get into their positions and the main position is the goal keeper. The goal keeper passes the ball so that his or her team mates can get a goal in at the other end.

Then the person with the ball has to try and get away from the person that is marking them. If the person without the ball kicks the person with the ball, it’s called a “Foul”. The person that got kicked without the ball gets a free shot.

Soccer is very important because it keeps you fit and healthy. Soccer helps us to build body strength. Soccer is not a sport that everyone can play, you have to train hard to keep up with your team. Soccer is a popular sport in Brazil.

Slow down sun, slow down sun!

On Friday,Miss Chao chose 4 captains for the Maori song performance. Ingrid was one of the captains. We told the story of  Maui and the sun. We had to perform after lunch and if we did not know our lines, we might mess it up for our group. So we practised our lines and I had the easy lines because they were short.

After I practised my lines, I went to go and get my costume. I was dressed up as the sun, Lasike was dressed up as Maui and Siu was dressed as Maui’s brother.  They started practicing their lines.

Lasike knew his lines off by heart and Siu knew some of his lines.

After lunch we performed in front of the class. Miss Chao picked the captain’ names out of a bag to decide the order.  Ingrid was the narrator. Maui thought that the sun went down too fast and there wasn’t any time to do anything. He could not see his food so he called his brother to came. When the brother came, he said to Maui “I can not hunt or eat”. Then Maui came up with a plan to catch the sun. They jumped out from behind the rock and tied up the sun. The sun said “Let me go!” Maui and Mana let the sun go after some struggle. From that day on, the sun slowed down so Muai and his friend can see and hunt.

After the performance we all felt proud of ourselves because we all tried our best.
