Which side are you on?

Persuasive Reading Analysis:
Take another look at the persuasive piece of reading/ writing.
What strategies does the author use to try to persuade you?
Below are strategies writers often use for this form of writing.  Read through each
strategy and decide whether the author used that strategy by writing yes or no in the second column. If you write yes, then explain how the author used that strategy.
Persuasive strategy
Yes / No
How the author used it?
Claim – States the main
point or stance
Yes
The clip begins with a single view of a boy who thinks that ants are worthless!  He thinks that they should be squished.  The ant - then tries to persuade the boy to think of what is happening from its perspective.
Big Names –  Mentions experts and
important people to support the argument
No

Logos – Uses logic, numbers, or
facts to support the argument
Yes
While the boy said that ants destroy picnics take away all the food, the ant says that The ant said “We only take a little bit of food , that’s all it takes o feed the whole colony.”
Pathos – Appeals to the audience’s emotions
Yes
This appeals to my emotions because  there  are two different ways to look at it. The ant said that she has an important job, “It is my job to gather food to feed the young.”
Ethos – Tries to build trust and
credibility

Research – Uses studies and
information to make the
argument seem more convincing;
this can be in the form of words,

Cadbury caramel Eggs:

Cadbury caramel Eggs:
The writer very cleverly used the phrase Don't get court.’ At the beginning
advertisement and he repeated it throughout the ad.

The writer has cleverly said “This little angel.” He said this so he could
make the audience think that the girl is innocent and she did nothing wrong.

The writers says “The eggs are irresistible so hurry up before they’re all
sold so go and get one now.”

The writer tells us that the cadbury Creme egg taste like e.g Creamy milk,
creamy flowing yolk and you can’t resist the two chocolate layers.

The writer Said that “if you don’t go to the shop’s now there will be none
left at the stores.

The writer said “You can’t resist the taste of the creamy cadbury egg and it has a double chocolate layer.

Be Like This Man!

The Author has presented to me emotional about going to encourage people who have nothing. He/She has started with a man in the beginning, water spilt on him then he grabbed a dead plant to make it grow.

The author hased use a mother and a little girl who lives on the street so that they can get money for the little girl’s education. This grabs the audience attention because the man is compassionate and generous. At the end everybody changed because the man helped them. All the people that the man helped was happy.

The author cleverly repeated the same actions
and the man saw that there was a change in them because he has helped them .

The man has given his food to the dog. And at the end of the this ad the dog was loyal to it because the man has feed it and he feed as if the dog was his own dog.

The author has made the man go around the town and help the people in need. This gets the audience to go and help the people who are poor homeless and who has no money to provide for their kids for education.

The author has made the man give and share what he has.
